As the use of cell phones and other hand-held devices become banned while driving in a number of states across the country, for reasons of safety, Bluetooth technology is being used as a way to still makes use of the technologies while driving.
To provide car buyers with these systems already available in their vehicles, Toyota has announced it is integrating Bluetooth hands free wireless systems in 15 models and will make the system available on the new 2009 Venza when it goes on sale later this fall.
The hands-free system makes it possible for drivers to conduct cellular calls while they drive without risking safety or disobeying laws.
Using the DVD navigation and JBL audio system, drivers can make and receive calls via the vehicles microphone and speakers as well as enjoy one touch call answering via the steering wheel or navigation screen and use their voice to command calls be received or placed.
The new system is built into optional Toyota onboard DVD navigation and JBL audio systems and is available on the Toyota RAV4, Corolla and Matrix models with a JBL audio unit. Buyers of the Toyota 4Runner, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tundra, Avalon, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and Solara models with the JBL audio unit or DVD navigation system will also have the new system.
