Fulcrum (News - Alert) Biometrics will sell IriTech’s IriShield iris recognition scanner systems online following a reseller deal between the two countries.
IriTech’s compact and low-cost systems will simplify the implementation of biometric iris recognition technology, in a range of applications such as mobile banking systems and voter registration.
Fulcrum Biometrics is an international provider, distributor and integrator of biometric systems and devices. The company is offering the IriShield as a complete USB desktop system or as an embedded module.
“We are always looking for ways to further the reach of our iris technologies in the marketplace,” said Dr. Daehoon Kim, president and CEO at IriTech, Inc. “Fulcrum Biometrics is a great partner for us because of their professionalism, their strong reputation in the biometrics market and their worldwide fulfillment capabilities.”
IriTech supplies the iris biometrics software and hardware foundation for identity assurance. The company has included an auto-capture camera module, built-in iris recognition technology and an available PKI-based security infrastructure in both IriShield systems.
Running on Android (News - Alert), Linux and Windows operating systems, IriShield has the ability to support both remote and on-board ISO-compliant compressed image generation and identification.
The IriShield modules use the iris recognition algorithms and IriTech claims these algorithms were top-ranked both in accuracy and interoperability by the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) IREX test.
“With its combination of low cost, compact size and high quality iris biometrics, the IriShield product line will enable rapid adoption of iris recognition technology for both civil and commercial applications around the world,” added Ken Nosker, president of Fulcrum Biometrics.
Fulcrum Biometrics was in the news last year for winning the Best Biometric Identification Solution in GSN’s 4th Annual Homeland Security Awards competition.
