News -
Alert) Xtreme N Router can now keep an eye on network performance by using a Yahoo! Widget. D-Link claims it is the first network equipment manufacturer to support this utility for home networking products.
The ‘D-Link Network Monitor’ Widget from Yahoo! displays major network performance data for Internet, WLAN, and LAN
connections. Users can view more than 30 types of network data with the widget, including security settings.
“Computer users that understand the power available to them through our Xtreme N routers will be eager to use these tools to keep performance at its peak,” predicted D-Link marketing director Daniel Kelley, in a statement.
Yahoo! Widgets include more than 4,800 desktop applications that display at-a-glance information such as PC performance stats, and details about the status of peripherals like D-Link’s router.
The DIR-655 Xtreme N Gigabit Router is equipped with Xtreme N technology to offer enhanced wireless coverage for larger homes and offices, or for users running bandwidth-intensive applications. Once connected to a cable or DSL
modem, it offers high-speed Internet access to multiple computers, game consoles and media players.
