Natco International announced Wednesday that Photo Violation Technologies is launching WiCity , which will provide free high-speed wireless Internet access to cities.
Photo Violation establishes a citywide wireless communications network when it installs its meters in the cities. This has enabled the company to create WiCity - free wireless Internet access within the city allowing users with wireless capable devices such as PDAs or laptops to access the Internet free of charge.
The company believes WiCity will help businesses attract and retain customers. The free-of-charge wireless network will also benefit business people, youth and others so they can live a 'connected life'. Additionally, WiCity will allow cities to set up separate channels for emergency dispatches, city workers, or field crews producing additional communication savings.
The city of Niagara Falls has become the first city to use WiCity that went live on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 to provide free wireless internet access for all citizens and tourist in the downtown core of Niagara Falls, New York.
