MotorSport Vision Deploy Xirrus Wi-Fi Network Across Leading UK Racing Circuits

By Niladri Sekhar Nath, TMCnet Contributing Editor

MotorSport Vision Ltd has successfully a deployed Wi-Fi network at multiple motorsport venues across the United Kingdom in collaboration with Xirrus, Inc. MotorSport Vision Ltd has installed a high performance Xirrus Wi-Fi network covering all the high density press and media areas for instant access to the Internet and media outlets for research and posting of news-related stories.

"MotorSport Vision Ltd turned to Wireless LAN Source to design a Wi-Fi network that delivered the most bandwidth using the fewest devices," said Matthew McGrory, Group Head of IT at MotorSport Vision Ltd., in a statement. "Our Wi-Fi network serves a demanding user community and needs to provide the utmost in reliability and performance - both Wireless LAN Source and Xirrus delivered on time and within budget."

The motorsport venues that will have Xirrus Wi-Fi network include Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park and Bedford Autodrome where popular racing events regularly take place.

"We designed a multi-site, fully manageable network including long range point to point wireless links allowing MotorSport Vision Ltd to have their network up and running ahead of the busy racing season," said Ben Wilson, commercial director at Wireless LAN Source, in a statement. "Xirrus is becoming the Wi-Fi solution of choice for a variety of locations throughout the UK as their Arrays deliver the needed throughput and coverage using far fewer devices which greatly reduces installation time and expense."

The Xirrus Wi-Fi Array includes four, eight or 16 radios, a high gain multi-sector antenna system along with an integrated Array Controller and Wi-Fi Threat Sensor.

"Xirrus was selected because we provided a cost effective Wi-Fi network delivering the most bandwidth while using only a handful of devices per racetrack," said John DiGiovanni, director of marketing and European sales at Xirrus, in a statement.
