Samsung ( News - Alert) Telecommunications America has announced the availability of SGH-t409, a mobile phone that supports T-Mobile HotSpot @Home.
The t409 is an easy-to-use flip phone boasting a host of features, including WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth wireless technology, a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera with digital zoom and picture and ringer caller ID.
Exclusive to T-Mobile ( News - Alert), the t409 is available in a sky blue color, and seamlessly makes and receives calls over a home WiFi network with T-Mobile HotSpot @Home.
“Samsung is proud to have worked closely with T-Mobile to develop one of the first products to launch with T-Mobile HotSpot @Home,” said Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president, Samsung in a statement to the press.
“The t409 provides consumers with a stylish, WiFi ( News - Alert) enabled phone, delivering great in-home coverage when packaged with T-Mobile HotSpot @Home,” he added.
According to Mike Selman, director of product marketing, T-Mobile USA, they have worked closely with Samsung to ensure T-Mobile HotSpot @Home and the Samsung t409 work seamlessly together, giving customers the best experience possible when making and receiving voice calls at home over WiFi, or on T-Mobile’s nationwide wireless network.
“Our customers get a revolutionary service and a cool-looking phone for the ultimate mobile experience,” said Selman.
As a key component of T-Mobile HotSpot @Home, the t409 can seamlessly connect customers to a home Wi-Fi connection or T-Mobile HotSpot.
The calls of T-Mobile HotSpot @Home customers are seamlessly transferred onto T-Mobile’s GSM/GPRS/EDGE wireless network when they leave home or a T-Mobile HotSpot.
Thanks to the t409 and T-Mobile HotSpot @Home, customers can enjoy great mobile coverage and unlimited nationwide calling over their WiFi network. These benefits also extend to all of T-Mobile’s HotSpot locations across the country.
