Swisscom has selected NewBay Software for providing UGC services to its 4 million subscribers. NewBay is a key vendor of mobile multimedia products and services.
NewBay's FoneBlog solution has been licensed by Swisscom and will act as the mobile blogging and multimedia album platform for Swisscom's new UGC service.
The company launched its branded service MoBlog in March which allows subscribers to communicate with each other as well as share and store information on mobile blogs. The service is integrated with the Vodafone Live Portal and NewBay will handle its hosting and moderation.
“Swisscom are definitely one of the most forward looking Operators so it came as no surprise that they fully recognize the huge opportunities to be gained from UGC and see the camera phone as a powerful production and publishing device rather than solely for communication," also commented Dr Nagappan Arunachalam, Chief Marketing Officer at NewBay Software.
