Aruba and Westcon Deliver Secure Mobility Solutions

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Under a strategic distribution agreement, Westcon Group will market and distribute Aruba Networks’ (News - Alert) entire secure mobility and wireless LAN product line throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The agreement will enable Westcon Group to offer its value-added resellers a suite of secure, next-generation wireless solutions for converged voice, video and data applications, including those that require seamless transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular networks.

A wide range of Aruba’s products will be marketed and distributed by Westcon including Aruba Mobility Controllers, wireless LAN access points, ArubaOS Mobility Software, and the Aruba Mobility Management System. These products are the critical part of Aruba's Mobile Edge Architecture, which extends the enterprise network to reach mobile users, regardless of location.

Anthony Daley, executive vice president, the Americas, Westcon Group believes that they are opening a new dimension of mobile opportunities for their resellers by bringing Aruba into their portfolio.

“The flexibility and security of Aruba's platform, combined with its outstanding voice quality and robust wireless networking, enable us to deliver market leading mobility solutions to resellers,” explained Daley in a statement to the press.

The secure mobility solutions from Aruba can provide high performance, easily deployed wireless networking, client-to-core security, compatibility with existing LAN and core infrastructure, and a VPN-free means of extending a corporate network to branch offices, virtual offices, and mobile workers.

“This distribution agreement brings together two companies with a shared vision of a mobile world,” said Peter Cellarius, Aruba’s head of business development.

“Working together we intend to aggressively pursue the rapidly growing markets throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa,” he added.

Brent McLeod, director of sales for Adaptive Communications, a Portsmouth, NH-based provider of information security consulting services and technologies points out that both companies are known for their strong customer relationships and technical expertise.

McLeod said that this collaboration will provide even more opportunities to the reseller community as it looks to tackle next-generation business challenges in mobility and convergence.
