Provigent Unveils PVG710 Integrated Transceiver for Microwave Backhaul Systems

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor

Provigent announced the availability of its PVG710 which is an analog Integrated Circuit (IC) used in microwave backhaul. Provigent provides System-on-a-Chip (SoC) solutions required in the Broadband Wireless Transmission market.

“The PVG710 provides the most cost effective solution for the strict design requirements of microwave systems. It integrates the complete Intermediate Frequency (IF) chain, allowing for reduced complexity and manufacturing costs, with enhanced performance,” stated Ran Soffer, Provigent’s Vice President of Marketing.

“The PVG710 gives customers the ability to reduce design cycles and system footprint. The PVG710 enables building systems with higher reliability and lower cost,” added Soffer.

The PVG710 includes receive/transmission synthesizers, mixers, gain stages and on chip filters. On the receiver side it offers cable compensation as it supports wide dynamic gain control range. On the transmitter side the PVG710 has a low noise amplifier stage to drive the cable. The system solutions are designed in strict accordance with ETSI (News - Alert) and FCC transmission requirements.

The company said that the PVG710 and its full support package were available for integration and testing. Further it can be connected to the PVG9610 (the PVG610 support package) for full system tests.

The PVG610 SoC is used in cellular backhaul networks, fixed wireless transmission and private wireless networks. It provides a complete processing chain from user data interfaces of mixed signals through the modem to analog baseband or IF signal.

Multiple user data streams and types can be encoded, modulated and converted to analog signal for transmission by the SoCs. The received analog signal is digitized, demodulated, decoded and mapped to user’s data streams.

The mass production SoC solutions of Provigent are capable of enhancing system levels besides reducing overall system cost. The economy of scale, R&D efforts and contribution to the broadband wireless transmission industry establishes the company’s position in the SoC market.

The solutions available from the company are most suitable for cellular backhaul networks, fixed access, core networks and private networks. They are reliable, flexible, cost effective and of high-capacity and so can be quickly deployed and up-scaled for the legacy and new cellular backhaul evolution (3G, HSPA and LTE (News - Alert)).

Provigent products deliver universal solutions for point to point wireless connectivity for voice, video and data traffic, optimized for broadband wireless transmission.
