Are Network has selected Redline's RedMAX products for one of the first WiMAX networks in Sweden. Are Network will deliver high-speed Internet and VoIP services to thousands of consumers and businesses in the Jamtland region, the location of the 2007 FIS Alpine World Ski Championship.
DataEquipment, Redline's certified, Value Added Distributor in the Nordic countries will provide local logistics and post-sales operations support to roll out the WiMAX Forum Certified RedMAX network.
In choosing RedMAX, Are Network joins other emerging network operators choosing 802.16-2004 solutions to quickly establish broadband wireless networks so that they can offer advanced communications services.
"Redline is the first to deliver true 802.16-2004-certified, state-of-the-art WiMAX products that we can commercially deploy today," said Marten Saflund, founder and Managing Director, Are Network in a statement to the press. "RedMAX's ability to deliver carrier-class network services such as toll quality voice solutions will enable Are Network to meet the growing demand, even in challenging rural environments. With this solution, Are expects to quickly roll out services and become the leading operator in deploying high-performance, licensed WiMAX networks in Sweden."
The system will deliver advanced broadband wireless voice, video and data services to the geographically challenging region of Jamtland and according to the news release, the community of Nordannalden is the first phase in the deployment that will ultimately bring advanced broadband wireless connectivity to the entire Jamtland area.
Redline's RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions comprises of the world's first complete system to receive the WiMAX Forum Certified mark for conformance to the WiMAX standards for performance and interoperability.
