Blessing Health System is reportedly offering Wandering WiFi’s wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) service free to all visitors, patients and physicians in its Quincy, Ill. locations.

 

The service, which is available throughout most areas within Blessing Health System, is provided via a wireless in-house network and offers Blessing and other businesses the opportunity for customized branding, usage controls, bandwidth management content filtering and reduced legal liability by forcing acceptance of terms and conditions.

 

In addition, Wandering WiFi (News - Alert) offers superior security and technical support with instant VPN access and 24/7/365 system monitoring.

 

The Blessing Health System in Quincy includes two hospitals, a physician group, a four-year nursing education program, a foundation and a group of medical specialty businesses.

 

Lea Ann Eickelschulte, director of information systems, Blessing Health System explained that when they began receiving queries about wireless accessibility from their patients and visiting physicians, they started the evaluation process, looking at security considerations and the cost involved.

 

They decided to choose Wandering WiFi because it had a good deal of industry experience and was very sensitive to the specific issues within healthcare.

 

A number of healthcare providers are moving to internal wireless networks to offer point-of-care bedside service and documentation, according to John Marshall, CEO of Wandering WiFi.
