Alert)-enabled MOTO Q 11 smartphone. Reportedly this is the first mobile phone from Motorola to be bundled with Boingo’s connection software and service.
Boingo Mobile provides gives unlimited access to the public Internet in commercial hot-spots, for users of WiFi-enabled mobile devices. This connectivity can then be used for mobile VoIP, Web browsing, content uploads and downloads, and other “unlicensed” services.
Through its Concourse Communications Group subsidiary, Boingo operates wired and wireless networks at 30 airports worldwide, including 24 of the top 100 North American airports.
Across all manufacturers, the Boingo Mobile portfolio of smartphones includes support for the Windows Mobile, Symbian (
News -
Alert) 60, Maemo Linux and UIQ operating systems.
Motorola said that its MOTO Q 11 phone with integrated WiFi is ideal for people who want a high-speed connection for Internet browsing. The built-in WiFi uses Boingo Mobile to automatically connect the Q 11 to thousands of WiFi locations worldwide.
The phone’s other features include an optimized keyboard for fast messaging, integrated GPS, and Windows Mobile 6.1. Users can personalize their homescreens and synchronize all contacts, calendar items and e-mail, just like being on a computer.
