NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking solutions, has announced worldwide availability of the industry’s first six-bay desktop network-attached storage solution (NAS) for small- and medium-sized businesses. In a cost-effective unit that is easy to use and quick to deploy, NETGEAR’s ReadyNAS Pro Gigabit Desktop Storage family provides high availability, high performance, expandability, and serviceability.
ReadyNAS Pro provides a reading at over 108 MBps and writing at over 102 MBps with an Intel ( News - Alert) dual-core processor. ReadyNAS Pro is equipped with an LCD display that provides quick and intuitive system status readings. Also, with a Web-based graphical user interface (GUI) and setup wizard for ease-of-use and setup, ReadyNAS Pro incorporates an active system monitoring capability which continually monitors the entire system for abnormal situations or part failures and e-mails system alerts to the network administrator.
Offering up to 6TB of network-attached storage, ReadyNAS Pro is the newest and fastest member of the ReadyNAS product family. Sharing digital data from a combination of Windows, Macintosh and Linux platforms, ReadyNAS Pro facilitates users across the LAN or WAN to store, back up and share digital data. To offer solid data protection against single or double disk failure, the ReadyNAS Pro supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and auto-expandable X-RAID2. The ReadyNAS Pro products support up to six SATA II hard drives via six lockable, hot-swappable disk trays housed in a compact desktop form factor. The connection of external USB drives, printers and battery backup devices is enabled with three USB 2.0 ports.
The new ReadyNAS Pro network-attached storage solutions include RNDP6350 ReadyNAS Pro 1.5TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes three 500GB SATA drives); RNDP6310 ReadyNAS Pro 3TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes three 1000GB SATA drives); and RNDP6610 ReadyNAS Pro 6TB Gigabit Desktop Network Storage (includes six 1000GB SATA drives).
“Small- and medium-sized businesses have yearned for a high performance, high capacity NAS device tailored for their IT infrastructures and IT budgets,” said Sam Feng, NETGEAR’s director of product marketing for networked storage. “We’re particularly excited to announce the availability of the industry’s first six-bay networked-attached storage product, our ReadyNAS Pro, as it will enable growing businesses to store and protect critical data on their networks like never before. SMBs have unique storage needs and our powerful ReadyNAS Pro provides the essential combination of performance, flexibility, ease-of-use, versatile features, and, perhaps most important, value.”
