Wavion and Leadcom Integrated Solutions (News - Alert) have successfully deployed a comprehensive video surveillance project in the municipality of Ness Ziona, Israel. Wavion said they delivered the high-speed wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi) via its advanced WBS-2400 base stations.

 

Yaron Levi, security manager from the Ness Ziona Municipality, said that they are determined in their pursuit of a city free of crime, vandalism and theft and believes the video surveillance system plays a huge part in furthering this goal.

 

Levi noted that the wireless solution that Leadcom and Wavion offered was more cost effective than building a new wireline infrastructure and it allowed them to provide the necessary coverage for all of their strategic locations with a higher bandwidth. Ness Ziona Municipality was positively surprised with the extent of the success of this project, which was significantly more than they originally expected.

 

Yoel Bar Gil, Leadcom CTO, said that they selected Wavion Wi-Fi solution after thorough testing, due to its superior performance. Wavion’s WBS-2400 base stations allowed them to deploy the network very quickly and cost effectively.

He observed that the superior performance in terms of coverage and high bandwidth makes the WBS-2400 base station a key enabler for wireless public safety solutions.

 

Wavion’s WBS-2400 spatially adaptive beamforming base stations provide extended range and higher throughput connectivity to standards-based Wi-Fi clients. The company’s sources claim that Wavion’s Wi-Fi solution requires one third fewer units than other competing Access Points (APs) to cover the same area, with superior indoor penetration and fewer dead spots.
