A recently published report by Dell’ (News - Alert)Oro Group revealed that the enterprise wireless LAN market is expected to experience strong growth over the next five years, approaching $4 billion in 2012.

 

Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, discovered with the report that one of the key motivators of enterprise wireless LAN market growth will come from users who have devices with embedded wireless LAN capabilities.

 

“The growing popularity of embedded Wi-Fi devices such as the iPhone (News - Alert) and ultra-portable PCs are expected to increase end-user demand for corporate IT departments to expand wireless LAN coverage,” said Ben Kwan, analyst of Wireless LAN research at Dell’Oro Group.

 

“We believe the penetration rate of wireless LAN will double by 2012,” added Kwan.

 

Dell’Oro Group also predicts that revenues from Service Provider Wireless LAN equipment will almost triple between 2007 and 2012.
