Online provider of wireless cell phones YouNeveCall has released “The Go Button” (TGB) which is a free application that helps to automate the process of connecting to WIFI networks free of charge. Considered “WiFi
Stealer” in some circles, TGB was designed for the use of publicly available networks to put wireless access within reach of the masses.
Analysts believe that the availability of the free application could revolutionize wireless internet, making it free around the world. The patent pending technology will allow Internet users at any location to connect with the nearest Wifi hotspot
without requiring the selection of a specific WiFi (

“While techies have always been able to find open wireless networks and connect, the majority of laptop owners find themselves frustrated when trying to connect to open wireless networks, especially in urban settings where they may be confounded by a great number of networks, many of which appear to be open, but will not allow internet access,” stated Sam Michelson, vice president of marketing, YouNeverCall Inc. “We wanted to provide a solution for the businessman or college student who just needs to get online to read some email or Skype (

TGB expands upon Microsoft Windows' wireless capabilities and simplifies the process of identifying and connecting with open networks. There are currently numerous services and applications providing maps of available wireless networks. TGB was created for the businessman or college student on the move.
The Go Button is extremely user-friendly. Upon installation, the application scans all available wireless networks and locates the strongest open signal in the vicinity. Upon connection with the network, users have full use of all Internet features such as email, chat, voice, and web surfing.
A company spokesman said, “By unlocking the wireless internet and making open networks easily accessible we believe more laptop users will be able to use Wifi effectively.”
Critics of TGB refer to it as a “Wifi Stealer” that will encourage laptop users to connect with their neighbor’s networks. YouNeverCall's extended beta program, on the other hand, appears to suggest that the vast majority of users are using the application to access public networks or those for which the user already has permission. This is necessary for users to remain in compliance with the company's terms of use.
