Transistor Devices Inc. (TDI) has reportedly come out with some new power solutions for WiMAX networks based on its Remote Power System Series (RPS).
TDI claims its RPS series “is the ideal fit for WiMAX as it offers ‘pay as you grow’ scalability.” The modular design allows a network operator to add to the system as needed.
According to a press release from the company, the RPS series “plays a crucial role in a WiMAX system by providing the best combination of environmentally sealed power modules and battery backup for deployment at the network’s edge.” The environmentally sealed rectifiers and electronics components require less maintenance and therefore result in long-term cost savings for operators. The units can be pole, wall or tower mounted.
TDI is a global supplier of power systems solutions for the computer/networking, telecommunications, military/aerospace, medical and industrial markets. The company boasts “the broadest range of high technology power conversion products available in the marketplace,” including DC and AC power systems, power supplies, rectifiers, converters and accessory equipment.
Headquartered in New Jersey, the company has more than 1,000 employees and seven facilities located throughout the world.
