Wayport has partnered with Inova Health System to provide wireless Internet access throughout its five hospital locations.
Under the agreement, the WiFi
Internet access will be provided throughout each hospital, and can be used by patients, doctors, staff and visitors. The companies are allowing users to connect for a nominal fee on an hourly basis. Paid (

Alert) membership plans for unlimited usage will also be available. In addition, Wayport will install public PC units (the Wayport CyberCenter Express) in the hospitals. These can be accessed by the public.

The company will help Inova run wireless hospital applications and provide guest access on the same robust network, all while maintaining HIPAA compliance and internal security. Moreover, Wayport will provide 24x7x365 support for anyone who needs assistance connecting to the wireless network.
Kevin McKeand, vice president and general manager, Wayport healthcare noted that Inova Health System shows great innovation in their approach of leveraging technology to enhance patient care as well as improve the patient and guest experience.
McKeand added that Inova will now offer a first rate experience for patients, visitors, physicians and staff by ensuring that each user is well supported, that the network is secure and reliable and that all services are consistently maintained over time.
