Globecomm Systems ( News - Alert), a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, has won an infrastructure contract from a major satellite service provider in Asia.
Valued at $3.8 million, the contract will provide four new turnkey antennas and related subsystems expanding an existing teleport originally built by Globecomm. This will significantly increase the customer’s operating capacity.
David Hershberg, chief executive officer and chairman of Globecomm said in a statement that their company has been enabling this customers growth for many years now and they are thrilled to be a trusted partner by such a major operator in the Asia region.
Globecomm Systems Inc. provides end-to-end value-added satellite-based communication products, services and solutions by leveraging its core satellite ground segment systems and network capabilities, with its satellite communication services capabilities.
The company made news last month when it received a contract modification from NATO valued at $4.6 million to extend communications services and on site support for the company's previously deployed GPS-Based Force Tracking System.
