According to published reports, Babilon-T is adopting the new WiMAX
technology as a way of meeting the strong broadband demand currently erupting in that part of the world. By taking into account Central Asia’s extremely mountainous terrain, the company will now be able to grant its many subscribers wireless broadband internet access. Babilon-T subscribers will now enjoy mobile TV, high-speed Internet access and VoIP
in their own homes, at work or outside, with a PC card or Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) from Huawei.
Huawei will provide an end-to-end Mobile WiMAX network, which will include distributed base station
, wireless access service node-gateway, and network management equipment and terminals. The Mobile WiMAX network will cover Tajikistan's four main areas, including the capital city of Dushanbe. Rollout of the new network will begin right away, and the network is all set to launch as early as the initial quarter of the coming new year.
This new wireless broadband access infrastructure provided by Huawei will grant Babilon-T brand new market opportunities, while at the same time allowing the provider to give its customers broadband access across the nation of Tajikistan.
