Samsung Telecommunications America and T-Mobile ( News - Alert) USA, Inc. have unveiled the new Samsung Katalyst, which supports T-Mobile HotSpot@Home service.
T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home is a unique service that enables subscribers to enjoy both home phone and a mobile phone service all in one single package. The wireless router offers excellent home coverage with unlimited calling and receiving facility and a HotSpot supporting phone works as a normal mobile phone while away from the Wi-Fi network. Currently, there are nearly 8,500 T-Mobile HotSpot locations nationwide.
Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president, Samsung ( News - Alert) said, “The Katalyst is the next-generation Samsung device to support T-Mobile HotSpot @Home that delivers great features in a sleek, slide form factor. Samsung is proud to work closely with T-Mobile to introduce handsets that enhance consumers’ mobile experience.”
The recently launched stylish Samsung Katalyst provides customers with great wireless coverage as well as unlimited, nationwide calling over Wi-Fi, if they purchase the add-on plan of the service.
The sleek Katalyst features a metallic silver finish and is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth wireless technology and a 1.3 megapixel camera. As an added incentive, the Katalyst also features advanced messaging capabilities including instant messaging, which enables instant chat and supports AOL ( News - Alert), ICQ, Yahoo! and Windows Live Messenger.
“Since launching T-Mobile HotSpot @Home in June, we’ve worked closely with companies like Samsung to expand our selection of HotSpot phones,” said Saj Sahay, director of product marketing, T-Mobile USA.
Saj Sahay added, “The Samsung Katalyst strikes a great balance of style and features with an affordable price, and gives customers who want the calling benefits of HotSpot @Home a great new handset choice.”
The Katalyst is available exclusively through T-Mobile at select retail stores and online at www.t-mobile.com.
