Alert) Wireless Communication Technology Limited has announced that a Japanese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has placed an order for 50,000 hybrid HSDPA
data/voice cards.
China based TechFaith is an original design product (ODP) provider conducting research and development for advanced cell phone solutions.
The hybrid HSDPA data/voice cards code named ‘Pike’ will have several features including full-speed USB 2.0 connectivity, SMS and MP3 capabilities besides powerful data capabilities and a compact design. Voice communication features are also provided in the cards said the company in a statement.
As an original design manufacturer (ODM) TechFaith would manufacture these cards.
TechFaith has already worked with the Japanese original equipment manufacturer for designing handsets. The company is also shipping the HSDPA data/voice cards to Europe and South East Asian markets this year end following orders from there.
TechFaith Wireless Communication Technology Limited is a company which encompasses businesses like handset design, feature phone solution, data card and wireless module, application software, smartphone and pocket PC. Further Techfaith provides MMI/UI software packages according to the specifications given by handset manufacturers and other service providers. TechFaith also provides upper layer software for handsets as it is equipped with wireless application software like WAP
, Java, MMS, W W W browser, SyncML and DRM.
TechFaith is also developing smartphone software based on operating systems like Linux and Windows Mobile. The software is designed to provide Bluetooth, WiFi
and high mega pixel camera technologies.
