Platinum Wireless (News - Alert), touted as one of the fastest growing companies in North America, is moving closer to acquire California-based American Connections, LLC, a distributor of wireless products and services.

 

 Platinum has not disclosed the financial details of the deal, nor has it revealed when it would complete the acquisition proceeds.

 In a press release issued on Thursday, Baze Melamed, President of Platinum Wireless, said, “This new partnership will provide us with a broader suite of products and services that value our history, reputation, and relationships that both firms bring to the table.”

 The acquisition strengthens Platinum’s position in the industry as it equips the Los Angeles-based company’s portfolio with more products and services.

Further more, the deal gives Platinum Wireless more distribution outlets and the capability to service more customers nationwide.

American Connections is a national distributor of wireless products and a local master agent for Sprint (News - Alert) services in Southern California.

 “By adding American Connections services under Platinum’s umbrella, we are enhancing and adding exceptional value to our customers and delivering results for our dealer base. The similarity between the two creates synergies that will enable us to go beyond customer expectations,” stated CEO, Jeff Javidzad.

The acquisition is said to be part of its strategy to cater to small, mid-size, to large business customers across the country.

Based in Los Angeles, California, Platinum Wireless is the National Master Authorized Representative for Sprint Nextel (News - Alert). Platinum Wireless has over 3,000 points of distribution nationwide. Recently, Platinum Wireless was listed as 44th of 100 fastest growing private companies in The Los Angeles Business Journal.

Attaining this status for the fifth consecutive year, Platinum Wireless has reflected 90.5 percent increase in revenue for 2006.

 

Established in 1997 with an intention to distribute Nextel's group of products more proficiently, Platinum Wireless recently launched in Pennsylvania, with their first market on the east coast. They currently have over 44 offices across the country.
