WebTech Wireless and EFU General Insurance Company (EFU), an insurer located in Pakistan, announced Tuesday that WebTech Wireless’ master distributor Tracking World Limited, has received a supply agreement to establish a newly created vehicle theft and recovery service for the insurance industry in Pakistan.
EFU recognized the benefits of reducing insurance risks with the deployment of WebTech Wireless Quadrant products and services following a successful trial period.
WebTech’s system included locators installed in commercial as well as passenger vehicles with state-of-the art AVL applications and reporting.
Cameron Fraser, chief technical officer and co-founder of WebTech Wireless said that the insurance industry throughout Europe, Latin America, and Asia are investing in Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) systems to provide a higher level of service to their customers. WebTech anticipates that GPS technology will accelerate the introduction of insurance products based on driving habits as well as for theft recovery.
“With the new set-up and installation of the Tracking World / WebTech Wireless AVL we are confident that the theft ratio will be reduced to the minimum level that we have already experienced during our test phase,” said Qamber Hameed, deputy managing director, EFU General Insurance Company in a
statement.
“We have had tremendous success providing the WebTech Wireless system in the commercial fleet market because of its proven reliability and rich feature set. Now we are pleased to be part of WebTech Wireless's expansion into the automotive telematics market,” added Khuram Qaiser, chief executive officer, Tracking World (Pvt) Limited.
