This system allows mobile WiMAX operators to offer premium mobile television over a two-way IEEE 802.16e network. This allows them to maintain content rights and protecting service revenues. Mobile operators can operate a variety of business models by deploying this solution and generate additional revenues and profits.
Members of the WiMAX Forum attending the organization’s conference and exhibition hosted in Taipei by ITRI can witness many features like launching of the TV client, browsing of the EPG, and channel changes, delivery of the live video signal over ITRI’s mobile WiMAX network to laptop PCs and business models and DRM features, including subscription and pay-per-view.
Dr. Sheng-Lin Chou, Deputy General Director of the Information & Communications Research (
