Interop Technologies announced that SouthernLINC Wireless (News - Alert) has selected its multimedia messaging solutions. The company delivers messaging, device management and connectivity gateways and develops and builds technology solutions for the wireless and telecommunications industries.
SouthernLINC Wireless, a regional wireless carrier serving the southeastern U.S., recently deployed Interop (News - Alert) Technologies’ hosted Multimedia Message Service Center or MMSC solution to extend MMS capability, including inter-carrier connectivity for MMS traffic, to its subscribers for the first time.
In a release Fred Farrell, vice president sales, North America, for Interop Technologies said, “We are pleased to help SouthernLINC Wireless expand its offerings by providing our MMSC, as well as inter-carrier connectivity, to support the company’s iDEN technology. Our solutions will help SouthernLINC Wireless further increase its competitive edge and capture available MMS revenue.”
The Interop Technologies’ scalable MMSC solution supports huge volumes of data, enabling SouthernLINC Wireless to accommodate fast, growth for its MMS business. The new Unlimited Picture Messaging Wireless service from SouthernLINC, will offer customers the ability to exchange multimedia files with wireless users on other networks also with their phones.
It was revealed that SouthernLINC Wireless selected Interop’s technology to support its MMS offerings after conducting a successful technology trial of the product. The Interop MMSC supports all 3GPP/3GPP2 audio-video formats and MMS-capable handsets in CDMA, GSM, and iDEN mixed-technology environments.
Rodney Johnson, vice president of sales and distribution for SouthernLINC Wireless said, “With Interop’s technology, SouthernLINC Wireless customers can now experience the latest multimedia messaging capabilities on their phones through our Unlimited Picture Messaging service.”
Johnson explained that SouthernLINC Wireless specializes in bundling multiple communications options into one device, and now picture messaging is a new addition to the company’s value-added service offerings.
Company sources added that Unlimited Picture Messaging is included with the Unlimited Cellular Advantage and Prepaid Unlimited Monthly plans. Users with compatible camera phones can add it to most other SouthernLINC Wireless service plans for just $8 per line per month.
Also unlimited services will be available within the SouthernLINC Wireless Regional Calling Area only. Other terms of the Prepaid Unlimited Monthly plan, including permissible usage allowance information for unlimited services, are available at www.southernlinc.com/promodetails.
