NewMarket Technology ( News - Alert) and subsidiary RedMoon (RedMoon Broadband) recently signed a contract with the City of Southlake, Texas, to purchase, deliver, and install a 80gHz wireless municipal security video monitoring and archival system.
The company believes that RedMoon Broadband was chosen because it is a state-approved provider and a leader in providing wireless solutions throughout the State of Texas. Through RedMoon Broadband NewMarket aims to rapidly establish $10 million in profitable annual revenue from its broadband subsidiary, NewMarket Broadband.
“We are very excited to work with RedMoon Broadband on this project,” said Wade Goolsby, chief of Police for Southlake in a statement.
Goolsby believes that the Town Square area of Southlake is a truly unique area with retail shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, hotel, and residences. He said that the Wi-Fi surveillance camera system will allow them to monitor activities and utilize police officers more efficiently in this area.
“By being proactive and installing this security camera system, we hope to deter possible criminal activity and maintain a safe environment,” he added.
NewMarket Technology and RedMoon Broadband have recently signed a non-binding letter of intent to form a partnership with Domos, Ltd. to initiate and develop wireless broadband in Mexico.
NewMarket and RedMoon are also exploring Wi-Fi and other wireless broadband opportunities in additional high-growth emerging markets, such as Africa and Malta.
