The Full Spectrum for Wisconsin: Spectrum Enterprise Expands its State Offerings

By Alex Passett August 01, 2023

Ah, Wisconsin. (Or “Hello, Wisconsin!” per the theme song of That 70’s Show.) Known for its cheese curds and other “dairyland” products, its breweries, the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, lumber production, Milwaukee and Madison and the Dells and much more, the state of Wisconsin has a lot to offer – and it’s certainly not the only state looking to meet the demands of both visitors and residents, old and new.

That’s why the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration and the provider of scalable, fiber-based technology solutions Spectrum Enterprise have entered into a multi-year contract to offer Spectrum (News - Alert) Enterprise’s broad portfolio of network, internet connectivity and cybersecurity solutions alike to Wisconsin state agencies, as well as municipalities and educational institutions.

The long-story-short of it? This is expected to streamline purchasing processes for a variety of scalable technology services that keep Wisconsin’s employees and citizens reliably connected, thus ensuring smooth digital operations.

A bit more specifically, Spectrum Enterprise’s solutions (being offered to participating organizations under the state contract) can help modernize network infrastructure, in addition to reducing TCOs and reinforcing cyberthreat protection. The services made available will include:

  • Ethernet
  • DDoS
  • Managed Router
  • SIP Trunking
  • UCaaS
  • Fiber Internet Access
  • Fiber Connect Plus
  • SpectrumU
  • Set Back Box (News - Alert)
  • Managed Network Edge
  • Enterprise Network Edge
  • Various cameras, sensors, voice services, etc.

Per Rajat Mukherji, Vice President, Vertical Markets, for Spectrum Enterprise:

“Many Wisconsin state and local governments and educational institutions require a modernized network and flexible technology solutions that can scale to support their digital operations and the evolving needs of citizens, students and employees. As an approved state technology vendor, we can provide eligible Wisconsin organizations a cost-effective and efficient way to enhance their digital infrastructures.”

This is an anticipated first-of-many type of moves for Spectrum Enterprise, given its national reach and its mission to create deeper understandings of technology and what challenges local institutions face.
