Global Reference Data Management Survey Launched by AIM Software and Interactive Data

AIM Software and Interactive Data have recently announced the launch of the fifth International Reference Data Management survey. The study is being conducted by AIM and FISD, and sponsored by Interactive Data (Europe), a subsidiary of Interactive Data Corporation.

The survey is aimed at shedding light on the movements that take place within the reference data automaton and risk management market. It will cover areas like the latest trends and some of the challenges associated within the industry.

“The positive feedback from financial institutions, global media and the whole financial industry encouraged us to continue our research and led us to conducting the survey for the fifth consecutive year,” said Martin Buchberger, head of marketing, AIM Software.

“We saw that the impact of new regulations is about to substantially change the whole operational infrastructure of financial institutions. We specifically took a closer look at risk management and reference data management processes in order to get a better picture of what shapes this development and to see how companies cope with it,” added Buchberger.

Some of the questions that the survey attempts to answer are queries like finding out the degree of success financial institutions have met with after the automation of their data. Also, finding out the factors that influence the reference data automation levels the most or even, discovery how regulatory norms affect the entire process.

The survey is conducted across 70 countries by AIM Software, and aims to provide insightful and comprehensive information. The survey that was conducted this year has focused on the minute examination of changes, which have taken place from 2008 and its preceding years.

The information has been gathered from data and risk managers, and the participation is open through a questionnaire on the company Web site.

The 2008 survey will hopefully explain how regulations and market liberalization influence the global financial markets. The final results of the AIM Global Data and Risk Management Survey 2008 will be available by the end of 2008. Participants benefit from a free, comprehensive benchmarking to the rest of the market, country-specific drill-downs and charts.
