In a recent ABI Research study that highlighted the changes of new indoor wireless DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems) markets, the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has marked out a few groups of DAS innovators. As a part of the competitive valuation procedure, the innovations were marked according to various criteria including MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and LTE (News-Alert) support, ease of installation, scalability, capacity enhancements, multi-technology, cost and small cell provision.

TE Connectivity, Andrew Commscope (News-Alert) and Corning (News - Alert) MobileAccess dominate the market with their market share and trade monopoly. ABI Research has identified vendors like SOLiD Technologies, Axell Wireless, Alvarion (News - Alert), Optiway, Powerwave (News-Alert) and Zinwave as companies that can pave the way for the next generation of development.

He also added that the small or large companies within this group are absolutely perfect candidates for the different M&A activities and that they will be further consolidated as the market matures.

Amongst the brands mentioned above, Axell Wireless is one of the brands furthest down the line collectively in terms of product innovation and operator acceptance. They have come up with a new broadband hi-speed DAS solution, and their combined emphatic presence in public security gives them an advantage over their competition and is soon coming to the list of the top three.

SOLiD Technologies, among others, is also another brand that is gaining wide acceptance as they have been gaining a huge market share in North America. Another company, Powerwave is fighting back, keeping up with the latest expansions and have also launched an LTE picocell and new lower power versions of DAS products. Zinwave (News - Alert), a relatively small time vendor is now ranking high for its multiservice, wideband DAS approach. Optiway and Alvarion are relatively new to this field and are looking to enter in the wideband multiservice DAS market.
