Continuity Planning 101 - A Continuing Educational Series: Back to Los Angeles Where the DPCF Was Launched

On September 16th 2008, ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2008 will return to the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Disaster Planning Pavilion will be part of the exhibit area and companies that offer disaster planning; SaaS (News - Alert) and other related services will be showing their wares. But many companies and Disaster Planning Communication Forum (DPCF) members will be located in other booths or conference areas.

AudioCodes (News - Alert), a Platinum Sponsor, is an excellent example. They offer media gateways and media server platforms for packet networks. They also have a rather unique feature named Stand Alone Survivability (SAS (News - Alert)) based on SIP B2BUA (Back-to-Back User Agent) functionality, targeting Enterprise branch offices. SAS enables the service backup for SIP clients such as SIP IP Phones and SIP Soft Phones in the case of a network failure.

One key element of a business continuity program is the continuation of support services for your customers or internal staff. With today’s Software as a Service (SaaS) technology even small operations can afford to maintain full support services by implementing a hosted solution.

CosmoCall Universe™ is the flagship product of CosmoCom (News - Alert) (www.cosmocom.com). It’s Virtual by Design architecture supports a large number of agents regardless of their location. CosmoCall Universe is inherently hostable and has been chosen by numerous top tier telecoms for hosted Call Center On-Demand™ applications. Their multi-tenancy feature set is particularly interesting.

Interactive Intelligence (News - Alert) offers their all-in-one solution as either a premise-based solution or as a hosted SaaS offering and both easily scalable from 25-5,000 agents. In addition, Hosted Disaster Recovery Solutions from Interactive Intelligence (www.inin.com) offer reliable, effective and affordable backup systems to keep your business up and running.

Another area to seek out at ITEXPO is TMC (News - Alert) University, offering full-day training courses including Software as a Service, Next-Gen Call Center Management and SIP. The SIP course is sponsored by Dialogic (News - Alert) (www.dialogic.com), a company having extensive experience in disaster and business continuity planning.
