Companies Develop Enterprise SAP SOA Strategy With Help From HP

TMCnet Contributing Editor

HP has announced its dedication to ensuring companies can get the most out of their SAP (News - Alert) experience. The company today announced that it will offer new services to support an enterprise service-oriented architecture (Enterprise SOA) blueprint from SAP. This support will help customers to achieve better integration and alignment of people, information and business processes across business and technology.

HP also intends to help with the design and implementation of services to support key SAP NetWeaver components, such as the SAP NetWeaver Portal program for workforce integration, the SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure (SAP NetWeaver XI) program for process integration, and the SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI) program for information integration.

SAP customers will be able to improve business process innovation and flexibility as HP, which offers its own SOA solutions, offers both Enterprise SOA service and SAP NetWeaver implementation services.

HP has quite a bit to gain from extending customers’ SAP usability. These SAP-based services complement and extend robust suite offerings from HP Software. Included are tools and applications for SOA quality testing, governance, security and management. The HP SOA Center combines HP’s existing SOA portfolio with the recent addition of Mercury and Systinet Registry and Repository.

In an effort to provide customers with rapid and cost-effective customized development of composite applications in addition to the design and implementation services for SAP NetWeaver components, HP will also offer Composite Application Factory.

These new services are part of HP’s Adaptive Infrastructure portfolio, which is intended to help enterprises reduce costs, improve service levels and increase the speed with which they can introduce change by transitioning traditional data centers into automated, virtualized, 24x7, lights-out computing environments.

HP offers a full lifecycle of SAP services as part of this portfolio, from strategy and design through implementation, integration and management, to enable the upgrade of legacy technology and application infrastructure.

“As site of the world’s fifth largest SAP application implementation, HP understands and appreciates the benefits of SAP applications,” said Onagh Ash, senior vice president, Consulting & Integration, HP Services, in a statement on Monday.

“Based on our experience and close collaboration with SAP in more than 55,000 customer implementations, HP delivers a smooth and cost-effective SAP NetWeaver platform deployment so customers can realize a better return on investment.”

HP has a lot to gain by focusing its efforts on improving the SAP experience for customers. SAP applications have enterprise-wide reach that can integrate all functions, assets, people, processes and information to assure streamlined activities for better production and efficiency. By ensuring customers can get the most of such solutions, HP is creating a greater demand for its services.

Businesses throughout nearly every industry are looking to IT resources and applications that are able to adapt in real time for business value in order to drive growth. HP has focused on providing flexible IT systems and services that will enable customers to build and manage computing environments that scale as business needs change. As the SMB market continues to grow, so will the demand for such deliverables.
