Network Equipment Technologies released its VX1800 Voice Exchange, its latest offering in NET's VX Series intelligent media gateway product line, which enables businesses to seamlessly integrate their existing telecommunications infrastructure with VoIP, unified communications, and enterprise mobility solutions. The VX1800 provides capabilities that go beyond the limitations of simple VoIP media gateways. The VX1800 supports up to 5,000 users in a singlebox solution with redundant AC power and expandable software modules.

Quintum Announces UCP for Tenors
Quintum Technologies announced the release of the new Unified Communications Proxy (UCP) for Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches and Gateways. Originally developed to support VoIP in Microsoft OCS 2007, the UCP allows multiple VoIP and TDM networks to be easily integrated together. The UCP expands Tenor's MultiPath switching capability to include enhanced call routing and SIP-to-SIP switching, and is now available in the entire Tenor "S" line of VoIP MultiPath Switches and Gateways.

Siemens Enhances Service Delivery and Introduces OpenScale
Siemens Communications announced significant enhancements, and a new brand name, OpenScale, for its professional and managed services portfolio. In addition, the company has also announced that it will invest significant resources into strengthening its existing global service infrastructure, and accelerating its capabilities in delivering software based Unified Communication (UC) services. Avaya Transitions Ethernet Switching Product Lines to Extreme Networks

The latest version of 3CX, v5.1, includes a new 3CX Tunnel, simplifying firewall configuration for remote VoIP extensions.
