Surveillance or Communications - It's all IP?

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Surveillance – it’s something we only expect to see in the movies or used by our more affluent friends. It’s common at the local retail store and public offices, but rarely do we pay attention. The same can’t be said for those who are in charge of making sure those who visit these locations are abiding by the rules.

Grandstream is one of those companies, focused on delivering high quality video cameras and other communications equipment. The company is known for delivering entire systems integrated across the network to support information capture and feedback. It recently made headlines when partner Matric Comsec announced interoperability certification of the Grandstream GVX IP Video Cameras with the SATATYA NVR400. The system will be used for surveillance solutions.

Developed as a comprehensive and affordable video surveillance solution, enterprise and SMB customers can take advantage of an improved solution designed for efficiency and productivity. The system relies on the Matrix NVR and Grandstream IP cameras. This interoperability allows for feature-rich, enterprise-level IP solutions that combine two strong company’s solutions to enable systems integrators to deliver the effective solution customers need.

The integrated system offers clear recording, remote monitoring, playback, quick search, prompt event alerts, backup redundancy, and more. Grandstream lends value to the platform with its IP video surveillance cameras that deliver high definition results whether low light or compromised environments. All endpoints in the Grandstream IP line are ONVIF compliant and all cameras allow for the convergence of voice and video to ensure the maximization of business applications and low costs.

For Grandstream, this partnership is important as the company looks to partner with providers who deliver technology that not only works, but is highly competitive, professional, and even advanced. Businesses do look for the Matrix certification and if they know the IP cameras will work seamlessly with the Matrix NVRs to provide centralized and remote management, they are better suited for the dispersed enterprise.

Grandstream Networks (News - Alert) provides IP voice and video telephony and video surveillance solutions. The company serves consumer and SMB markets with innovative products that are designed to lower the cost of communications, increase security protection, and even enhance productivity. With open standard SIP-based products, Grandstream enables great flexibility, features, and price-performance when it comes to competing with others in the field.

To demonstrate its performance in the market, Grandstream was recently on hand for ITEXPO (News - Alert) to demonstrate its GX PIP phones. In fact, their booth was set up to demonstrate the entire system. TMCnet’s Rachel Ramsey caught up with their representatives on the floor. To get the scoop, check out this ITEXPO video
