By Tim Gray, TMCnet Web Editor
Digium (News - Alert) today announced the official call for entries for the second annual Digium Innovation Awards, designed to recognize Asterisk developers, customers and partners for outstanding achievements that are improving business processes, overcoming technology challenges and delivering record return on investment.
“We were overwhelmed by the great response we received for the inaugural Digium Innovation Awards and look forward to seeing the new and exciting ways individuals and businesses are using Asterisk this year,” said Digium Founder and CTO Mark Spencer (News - Alert).
The Award submissions are being accepted for the following categories:
Pioneer Award — most innovative Asterisk implementation; Big Biz Asterisk (News - Alert) Award — largest Asterisk enterprise-class installation; ROI Award — best measurable ROI from implementing Asterisk; Inside Out Award — best use of Asterisk in a business outside of telecommunications.
Winners from each category will be announced September 22-25 at AstriCon 2008, www.astricon.net, in Glendale, Arizona.
The benefits of being named a Digium Innovation Award winner include: presentation of award with a profile of your company during the Digium|Asterisk World 2008 conference general session; congratulatory press release from Digium; listing on the digium Web site; invitation to present at Digium|Asterisk World Fall.
“In 2007 alone members of the community downloaded Asterisk more than one million times. As everyone at Digium and in the Asterisk community knows, that was just the beginning,” said Spencer.
