United States Coast Guard Select Level 3 to Provide Communications Services

Proofpoint, a provider of Software-as-a-Service-based email security, compliance, and eDiscovery solutions, has reportedly selected TelecityGroup to provide data center operations in Frankfurt and Amsterdam for its on-demand offerings.

 

Frankfurt facility will act as the primary data center for EMEA with Amsterdam being a completely redundant data center providing instantaneous emergency capacity, failover and disaster recovery, officials said.

 

The ISO 27001 certified European data centers will host Proofpoint’s (News - Alert) family of Proofpoint on Demand offerings. They include solutions for accurate protection against spam and viruses, comprehensive data loss prevention, email encryption and secure email archiving.

 

Officials say that these facilities will enable Proofpoint to comply with stringent IT security requirements, maintain its focus on service delivery, reduce operational costs and guarantee quality of service as the company expands its distribution channels and customer base in Europe.

 

Proofpoint serves a wide range of market sectors, including the financial services industry, for which security is paramount. The company selected TelecityGroup’s state-of-the-art data centers considering their ability to offer physical security to Proofpoint’s infrastructure.

 

TelecityGroup offers colocation and IP connectivity services to Proofpoint from its data centers in Amsterdam and Frankfurt, where it also hosts two of Europe’s largest Internet exchanges, AMS-IX and DE-CIX (News - Alert) respectively.

 

The centers have CCTV cameras installed to monitor Proofpoint’s infrastructure and transmit images to its headquarters in the US, allowing constant remote monitoring of the equipment and offering peace of mind to its customers.

Proofpoint recently made headlines with the announcement of a new version of its SaaS email archiving solution, Proofpoint ARCHIVE. The new Proofpoint ARCHIVE makes it easier for the customers to securely archive email and solve the storage management, legal discovery and regulatory compliance challenges associated with email retention, officials said.
