Nokia Debuts Agriculture-Related News Tool in India


Nokia has announced that the company will introduce the “Life Tools” product in India. With this, the company will deliver news, entertainment, educational and agriculture services in the nation’s most rural areas.



 
The service will be launched in the state of Maharashtra, and the company has already conducted a successful trial here for this purpose. The service will be in conjunction with the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board (MSAMB). Nokia (News - Alert) Life Tools is hosted by OnMobile in India.
 
The complete Nokia Life Tools solution will be available on the newly launched Nokia 2323 classic and Nokia 2330 classic devices. Nokia Life Tools has a range of 3 primary services - Agriculture Services, Education Services and Entertainment Services.
 
The Nokia Life Tools Agriculture service provides daily weather updates and relevant agriculture-related news, advice and tips. The premium plan, at Rs 60/month, offers the the closest market prices for three crops chosen by the subscriber, as well as weather, news, advice and tips.
 
D Shivakumar, Managing Director, Nokia India said, “Nokia Life Tools was a result of the entire ecosystem coming together and is ideally placed to usher in an information revolution impacting the daily lives of people. We extend our sincere thanks to MSAMB and our key partners for believing in and supporting our vision of ‘empowering people and connecting them to the things that matter’.”
 
The Nokia Life Tools Education service will help the students to learn English and prepare for exams such as ICSE, CBSE and State Board-level exams.
 
Offered at existing market prices, the Nokia Life Tools Entertainment service at launch will include Astrology, News, Jokes, Cricket and ringtones.
 
Recently, the company announced that the Nokia N97 mobile phone will be now available in the US market. The phone comes with a live widget home screen that lets users to get instant news updates, see and share anything in their social networks and access content, info and entertainment from around the world. The N97 is an advanced mobile computer and is designed for needs of internet-savvy consumers.
