The City of Chicago has reportedly deployed MetraTech's Billing and Partner Settlement Solution for the Chicago Department of Aviation which includes O'Hare Airport.
Officials at the Department of Aviation said that they needed a solution that handled complex calculations based on Airport Use Agreements and contracts. MetraNet solution was proved the best to support the non-airline revenue which is primarily based on leases and concessions which have over 20 different business models that combine fixed rate leases with a percentage fee of retail sales.
Officials confirmed that the airport generated nearly $38 billion in annual economic activity including nearly $800 million in revenue and invoices that are generated on a monthly basis and are reconciled annually once the actual operational costs are known. With MetraNet solution, O'Hare Airport has been able to overcome complex challenge from the perspective of billing and settlement.
MetraNet's automation of processes and financial models are providing greater accuracy and transparency to the businesses that operate within the airport system, particularly the airlines themselves.
Scott Swartz, founder and chief executive officer, MetraTech (News - Alert) Corp., said, "We are extremely proud that the City of Chicago has implemented MetraNet. They have set a new standard for operational excellence for airports."
MetraTech's says that MetraNet was designed without limitation in its ability to support different financial relationships and different business models. The support of settlement, the intricacies of multiple relationships stemming from single or multiple transactions requires no coding, development, pre- or post-processing.
Moreover, design principles are not built on a data model suited to a particular business model, but allow the configuration of any mode of operation.
MetraNet has been recently awarded a "strong" rating by Gartner (News - Alert), the leading technology research and advisory company, in its December 2008 "Dataquest Insight: Business Support System Market Overview and Strategic Scorecard for Vendors, 2008."
The report was based on an extensive survey of telecom operations and management systems and provides an analysis of 12 vendors. MetraTech, and its MetraNet product, achieved a "strong" rating overall, and scored a rating of strong in the areas of product strategy, sales strategy, and market understanding.
