By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributing Editor
IKANO Communications has announced a new Referral Agent Program for Google (News - Alert) Apps Partner Edition, which comes with APIs that make it simple for users to provision, customize, and integrate Google Apps into their existing infrastructure.
Google’s communications tools such as Gmail, Google Docs collaboration, Google Sites, Google Calendar shared calendaring, and Google Talk instant messaging are all part of Google Apps Partner Edition.
This latest announcement enables technical consultants and organizations to promote Google Apps to Internet service providers, broadband service companies, wireless service providers, fiber to the premise providers, cable companies, municipalities, portal providers, and more.
IKANO (News - Alert) officials said that agents can receive a portion of the yearly revenue by referring business to the new program.
Company officials said that this new program is simple and after approval into the Referral Agent Program, new agents can market to their clients. IKANO will be able to track referrals through “unique sales codes” that it provides to agents.
IKANO Communications is a provider of IP solutions for Internet Service Providers including Internet access, email, hosting, portal, billing and customer support services.
“The new Referral Agent Program is great for consultants who assist service providers with their technology decisions in the U.S. and Canada, said George Naspo, CEO at IKANO. He believes that with the help of Referral Agents, the news of Google Apps Partner Edition will spread.
According to company officials, consumers today are moving towards notebooks and mobile devices, and Google Apps offers a way to communicate on these devices without additional costs.
“Google is excited to make even more service providers aware of the many benefits of Google Apps,” said Eugene Levitsky, head of Partner Edition Sales at Google. He believes that now more residential end users will benefit from the advanced messaging and collaboration tools offered as part of the Google Apps family.
