XO Appoints Daniel Wagner as New President of Business Services Unit


XO Communications, a provider of advanced communications services and solutions for businesses, enterprises, government, carriers and service providers, has appointed Daniel Wagner as the new president of company's Business Services unit.



 
As president of Business Services, Wagner will concentrate on accelerating the division's profitability and long-term growth by making customer-focused sales strategies and creatively integrating new and different approaches to delivering voice, data, converged and managed services for businesses and enterprises, according to the company.
 
Prior to XO Communications (News - Alert), Wagner worked as executive vice president at Global Crossing's Enterprise and Collaboration Services. During this period, he played a significant role in Global Crossing's (News - Alert) regional direct sales, government services, collaboration services, indirect channels and sales engineering divisions. He contributed the company with increased sales, productivity and customer-focus by streamlining business processes and developing a metrics-driven culture, according to the sources.
 
"Dan knows how to attract and retain customers in a highly competitive industry," said Carl Grivner, chief executive officer of XO Communications. "We are thrilled to have such a hard-charging, experienced professional joining our executive management team to leverage the recent successes of our company and execute upon our plan to be the best telecommunications provider for businesses."
 
XO claims that the company has maintained a strong industry foothold, in spite of economic downturn. Recently, the company achieved milestone by - installing VoIP services at 15,000 businesses and continuing to advance its XO SIP, a session initiation protocol trunking solution. 
 
According to XO Communications, last year the company achieved modest revenue growth, successfully secured $780 million in financing, made a considerable long-term investment to drive faster revenue growth and operational efficiencies, protected its LMDS licenses as well as succeeded in the regulatory environment, says company.
 
Wagner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University. He has fourteen years of combined experience at Global Crossing and Frontier Communications.
