- ECI Telecom Ltd. announced that David
Rubner, president and CEO of the company, has notified the Board of Directors of
his intention to retire from his position in the company by March 5, 2000. The Board has
appointed Doron Inbar as president, effective immediately, and will name
him CEO upon Rubner's retirement.
- SpeechWorks International, Inc., a provider of
conversational speech recognition technology and products for e-business solutions,
announced that Roberto Pieraccini, a world leader in speech systems
research, has joined the company to head the new SpeechWorks Natural Dialog Group, a
dedicated team of dialog experts whose mission is to facilitate the creation of
next-generation, spoken interface telephony systems.
- Former Pinacor director of sales and finance Mike Lima has joined
Tempe-based Cablesoft as chief operating officer, to
assist the company with its continued expansion and new product strategy. Lima will
oversee the running of Cablesoft's day to day business.
- Stevens Communications Inc., a systems
integrator of performance management solutions for contact centers, announced the
appointment of Patrick G. McKune as chief financial officer. Patrick
joins Stevens from Blistex Inc. where he served as vice president of finance. He will
report directly to Steve Kaiser, president and CEO of Stevens.
- VSI (V-Systems, Inc.), a company dedicated to
"Bridging the Gap between Business and E-Business," announced the appointment of
Terence P. McClelland as director of sales. In his new position,
McClelland will drive VSI's multi-product and multi-platform sales efforts, and spearhead
the corporate directive of providing powerful and reliable network fax and e-business
solutions for today's corporations.
- SITEL Technology Services (STS), a business unit of
Baltimore-based SITEL Corp., the global customer relationship management (CRM) services
company, announced the appointment of James P. Dunn as chief operating
officer. Based at STS headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, Dunn will be responsible for all
operational issues involved in the day-to-day delivery of services.
- SCB Computer Technology, Inc. announced that Michael
J. Boling, CPA, has joined the company as executive vice president, Finance and
chief financial officer. Boling brings over 24 years of "Big Six" accounting and
financial experience to SCB.
- PictureTel Corporation announced that Dr.
Carl S. Ledbetter has joined the company's board of directors. Ledbetter has more
than 20 years of technical and managerial experience in computers, networking and
telecommunications. He is senior vice president of business and corporate development for
Novell, Inc., and chairman of the board of Hybrid Networks, Inc., an innovative leader in
the wireless broadband industry.
- Matthews Communications, Inc., a developer of small office, home office and family
communications technologies, announced that it has changed its name to PremiseNET, Inc. The new name refers to the
technology, patented by the company, that will revolutionize the way small offices and
busy families are able to leverage their telecommunications needs.
