- Douglas W. Smith has been named Davox
Corp.'s senior vice president of international operations and strategic business
development. As part of his new role, reporting directly to Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer Alphonse M. Lucchese, Smith will direct the company's international sales and
distribution channels worldwide. Smith will also continue to direct the company's
strategic business development as he has done in his most recent role as vice president of
worldwide strategic partnerships.
- NBX Corporation announced the hiring of Rick
Schonbrun as vice president of sales. Schonbrun was most recently vice president
of sales and marketing with Atlantic, a Lucent Technology Joint Venture Company and
telecommunications reseller headquartered in Florida.
The company has also hired of
senior sales management personnel to execute the Company's distribution and expansion
strategy. The newly hired personnel include: Mark T. Falk, Sales
Director, Eastern Region; Ray Laskas, Sales Director, Western Region; John
Drolet, National Accounts Manager; and Steve Safley, Sales
Director, Central Region. The four will support a nationwide network of authorized NBX 100
resellers throughout North America.
- WebLine Communications announced the appointment of
Zoltan Poleretzky to director of product marketing.
Poleretzky joins WebLine from Nortel Networks, where he held the position of senior
manager in the Call Center Business Management group and focused on the development of
Internet call center solutions through CTI.
- COMCEN, Communications Center, located in Escondido, Ca., announced that Kirk
Youngdale, formerly a product manager with The Automatic Answer, has accepted the
position of computer telephony sales engineer. This position will allow COMCEN to expand
their sales and support of integrated telephony products throughout southern California.
- Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc.
has appointed Ori Sasson as CEO and a member of the Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Genesys, Mr. Sasson was Chairman and CEO of Scopus Technology, Inc.
- smallwonder softworks, inc. (SSI)
announced that Jason Cunningham has joined its Technical Group as a
customer engineer. Cunningham's efforts will focus primarily on technical support,
training, product installations, scripting assistance, and product development.
August Wijnstein has also joined the company as a customer engineer
responsible for technical support, product installation, and hardware and software
development and testing.
- SpeechWorks (formerly ALTech) announced that Charlie
Rutledge has joined the company as the vice president of its Solution
Services group. Rutledge comes to SpeechWorks with an extensive background in IT systems
development, most recently with Andersen Consulting.
- IDRC (International Data Response Corporation) has
made two appointments to its business development team by appointing Kevin
Bradford as senior vice president business development and Tom Woods
as vice president business development for IDRC USA Inbound & Customer Care. Bradford
will be responsible for growing IDRC's revenue by developing IDRC's relationships with
Fortune 1,000 companies as an outsourcing partner for large customer care call center
work. He will concentrate on large, multi-year outsourcing opportunities related to
inbound teleservices. Woods will be responsible for new client development, including
inbound sales and service, within the financial services and high-tech industries.
The company has also made two appointments to its senior management team. IDRC recently
appointed Rod Cunniam as vice president information systems and Marie
Wallace as vice president human resources for S&P
Data Corp., an IDRC subsidiary within its International operating division.
- Clarent Corporation has appointed Richard
J. Heaps as chief operating officer. With over 20 years of leadership experience
in all facets of high technology, including operations, sales, marketing, finance, legal
and technical services, Heaps joins Clarent after heading a private consulting firm and
law practice serving Silicon Valley-based high technology companies
The company also appointed Joanne Webster as vice president, worldwide
human resources. Webster has successfully worked with companies ranging from start-ups to
post-IPOs, including most recently, Pointcast Incorporated, where she was director of
human resources.
Chris Wyles joins Clarent as vice president and managing director for its
operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Wyles has over 20 years of
leadership experience in general management, sales, marketing and business development in
high technology environments in the United Kingdom, the United States, Western and Eastern
Europe and the Middle East.
