- WhiteCap
Development Corporation announced the appointment of Duncan Mackay as
president. Mackay brings over 20 years of CTI and executive management experience to
WhiteCap. He is tasked with driving the company forward in delivering a complete solution
for next-generation customer interaction centers at the lowest cost of ownership.
Previously, Mackay was vice president and general manager Quintus Corporation.
- David S. Gergacz has resigned as chairman,
CEO, and president of Brite Voice Systems.
Stanley G. Brannan, founder of the company and a member of the board of
directors, will replace him on an interim basis.
- Octave
Communications, Inc. (formerly known as Nexus System, Inc.), a developer of
collaborative telephony applications, announced its new board of directors.
The board will be chaired by Robert Scott, president and CEO of Octave
Communications, who has over 20 years of experience in the data and telecommunications
industry, most recently at MultiLink. Other members include: Arthur Leondires,
vice president of engineering at Octave Communications; Zenas Hutcheson,
general partner of St. Paul Venture Capital; Stephen Gaal, founder and
managing director of Gaal & Company, Inc.; and Peter Fuss,
independent consultant and executive vice president of Technology at Batterson Venture
Partners, L.L.C.
- Syntellect
Inc. announced the election of Michael Kaufman, managing general
partner of MK Global Ventures, to a seat on the Syntellect Inc. board of directors.
Kaufman brings extensive technology, business, and call center market experience to
Syntellect's board of directors. A former general partner of Oak Investment Partners, he
was involved in the formation of numerous technology companies and served as founding
investor and director of Businessland, Davox, Katun, Easel, Ekco, Interlan, and Ziyad, and
others.
- Vanguard
Communications Corporation announced that James Drury has joined the
firm's call center consulting practice. Drury comes to Vanguard after serving as product
manager in the call center business segment of Norstan Communications, Inc. He will focus
primarily on projects involving multiple technologies such as CIS, CTI, and Internet
telephony.
- Jeffrey Dykan has been appointed chief
financial officer of VocalTec Communications Ltd.,
effective February 1, 1999. Dykan will be responsible for all financial activities of the
company, including financial reporting, planning, budgeting, management and analysis.
Dykan joins VocalTec from Applied Materials, Inc., a supplier of semiconductor wafer
processing systems and services.
- Rockwell
Electronic Commerce, leading provider of large call center switches and CTI solutions,
has appointed Wesley Gilson as Director, CTI. Gilson will be responsible
for sales and engineering of CTI and other advanced technologies for Rockwell and its
partners. Gilson has previously worked for with Siemens, IBM, and ROLM.
