- VocalTec Communications, Ltd. named Elon
Ganor its chief executive officer. Ganor, current chairman, previously has held
the CEO post, during which time he oversaw the company's rapid rise in the Voice over IP
industry (VoIP) it helped to create. He will immediately assume the responsibilities of
Doron Zinger, outgoing president and CEO, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities.
- PakNetX Corporation, a provider of Integrated
contact center (ICC) systems, announced that Rick Mace has been appointed
president and chief executive officer. Mace will assume overall responsibility for
day-to-day company operations as well as strategic direction.
- Teloquent Communications, a provider of virtual
call center solutions for Web and conventional telephone-based customer interaction,
announced the appointment of Gerald Rush as vice president of finance and
administration and chief financial officer. Rush will be responsible for setting strategic
direction for the finance, management information systems, human resources, and customer
administration organizations.
The company also announced the appointment of Tim Walsh to the position
of vice president of sales. In his new role, Walsh is responsible for managing a field
sales operation, a channel referral program, a federal government sales force, and a
strategic alliance business development organization.
- Wireless Knowledge LLC, a joint venture
company of Microsoft Corp. and QUALCOMM, announced that Eric V. Schultz has
been appointed Chairman and CEO of Wireless Knowledge LLC effective immediately.
- Spyglass Inc. announced the appointment of John
S. Pigott to vice president of sales. The company says Pigott, who sold software
and services for IBM Corp. and Cerner Corp. for more than 20 years, understands Spyglass'
solutions approach to the information appliance market.
- Redback Networks, Inc. named William Kurtz,
chief financial officer of Scient Corporation, to its board of directors. Redback Networks
is a leading provider of advanced networking solutions that enable carriers, cable
multiple system operators (MSOs), and service providers to rapidly deploy high-speed
broadband access to the Internet and corporate networks.
- Rapid Link, a provider of international
Internet-based communications services, appointed Christian R. Stormer,
founding partner of South Carolina-based CPA firm Bauknight, Pietras & Stormer, P.A.,
as the newest member of its board of directors.
- NEXTLINK Communications, Inc. has named Mark
Gunning as vice president and chief financial officer. The company also announced
it has named Kim Albano as vice president and chief service officer.
Albano will be responsible for building world class, customer service management systems
and teams across NEXTLINK.
- The International Multimedia Teleconferencing Consortium
(IMTC) membership recently completed the election of the organization's board of directors
and officers who will lead the organization through the year 2000. The complete results of

- SITEL Technology Services (STS), a business unit of
Baltimore-based SITEL Corporation, the global customer relationship management (CRM)
services company, announced the appointment of Amy Franklin as director
of operations for its new Augusta call center. Franklin will oversee telephone and
Web-based support agents performing services for large information technology accounts
from a 50,000 square foot support center, which was recently opened in Augusta.
- Epicor Software Corporation named Richard
'Rick' Roll as its president and chief operating officer (COO). The newly created
COO position will report to George Klaus, chairman and CEO of Epicor. Roll will have
overall responsibility for Epicor's operations including sales, marketing,
professional services, customer support, and research and development.
- Merlot Communications, Inc., a provider of new
generation networking platforms that extend the service provider network directly to the
customer premise, announced that Liz Harrington has been appointed
director of systems engineering and customer support. In her new post, Harrington is
responsible for the technical management of accounts including design, installation,
maintenance and customer support.
- Charles Vogt has joined Accelerated
Networks, Inc. -- a supplier of data and voice over DSL and multi-service access
solutions -- as vice
president, worldwide sales.
- Taqua Systems, Inc., an emerging provider of
next-generation switching platforms, announced that Brian D. White,
former vice president of carrier sales at Nortel Networks, Inc., has been named the
company's new senior vice president of sales. Taqua also announced the appointment of Keith
Scheunemann, who formerly served with Harris Corporation and Summa Four
Corporation, as Western regional vice president of sales.
- Kanisa Inc., an e-service solution provider,
announced the appointment of Dominique Trempont as chief executive
officer. Trempont, an experienced Silicon Valley executive, will grow Kanisa's product
development capability, sharpen its Internet strategy and scale operations on a worldwide
basis.
- StaffMark, Inc., an international provider of
human resource and business solutions, announced that Michael R. Maffei
has joined the company as vice president of the Call Center Solutions Group. The Call
Center Solutions Group will be responsible for focusing on and developing a strategic call
center staffing and operations program for StaffMark's current and future clients.
