  • Quintessent Communications, Inc., a leader in telecommunications back-office e-commerce software products and services, announced that Brian A. Vincent has been named the new president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors.

  • Solectek Corporation, a worldwide leader in wireless interconnectivity products, announced the addition of John Mazzaferro as vice president of marketing to its senior management team.

  • Easyphone Inc. will change its company name to Altitude Software Inc., effective December 1, 1999. The company says the name change reflects the rich, complex nature of today’s contact center, and focuses attention on its success in delivering the industry’s most complete range of solutions for blended and mixed media contact centers. The company will continue marketing its products under the EASY brand name.

  • Talk.com, which leverages the power of the Internet to bill, service and market telecom services to its rapidly growing base of customers, has named Mark S. Fowler -- former chairman of the FCC and founder of the companies PowerFone Holdings, Inc., UniSite, Inc. and AssureSat, Inc. -- to its Board of Directors.

  • MSA (Mitchell Sweet & Associates), a sub-prime auto servicer and provider of teleservices call center solutions to numerous financial lending institutions, named Lloyd Ledet as vice president of sales. Ledet was previously director of marketing operations at one of the largest teleservices companies in the nation, GC Services.

  • Tellabs named Jane Brandt as vice president sales of the company’s multiservice networking products. In this role, Brandt will have responsibility for sales and support of Tellabs’ data networking and next-generation switching products, which will help carriers build and transition to the new public network. Brandt joined Tellabs as part of the company’s acquisition of NetCore Systems Inc., a move that enhances Tellabs’ strength in delivering carrier-class multiservice networking solutions.

    The company also announced that it has named Don Jones its new vice president of North American Sales. In this position, he will be responsible for sales of Tellabs products in North America, and will report to John E. Vaughan, president of Global Sales and Service.

  • ITXC Corp. announced that Ed Hirschman, director of product Management, has been promoted to a new position at ITXC as the director of new business development. In his previous role, Hirschman was responsible for the on-time product launch of ITXC's first three services and was one of the major drivers behind the industry's iNOW! initiative.

  • USinternetworking, Inc., a leading application service provider (ASP), announced that Nick Magliato will be president and general manager of USi's new Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Business Unit. USinternetworking (USi) launched the unit to address the very large and growing market for outsourced messaging and collaboration systems.

  • Symbol Technologies announced that Chuck Hudson, a 20-year veteran in the computer industry, has been named vice president of marketing of the company's Wireless Systems Division. Hudson will direct key initiatives to drive Symbol's leading wireless local area networking (WLAN) business into expanded markets worldwide.

  • SPECTRUM, a division of Cabletron Systems, announced it has brought on industry veteran Stephen Englert to direct its channel sales and marketing operations. Englert comes to SPECTRUM from Computer Associates, where he was a significant contributor to the success of its channels business as part of its Global Professional Services organization.

  • The CDMA Development Group (CDG) announced that Melissa May has been appointed director of marketing relations. May joins the CDG from Vodafone AirTouch, a global wireless operator, and is responsible for all internal and external communications for the CDG. May reports directly to Perry LaForge, executive director for the CDG.
