- VIP Calling, Inc. announced expansion of its
Asian presence with the opening of a regional office in Taiwan. They will offer IP
telephony services to the growing Taiwanese telecommunications market. The company also
announced that Harry Song has joined the company as region director,
Taiwan. Song will be the carriers representative for VIP Calling in Taiwan.
- Witness Systems, Inc. announced the appointment of Dave
Gould as CEO. He succeeds Craig Richards, who helped shape the company's
infrastructure over the past year to sustain long-term growth. Gould's breadth of
experience in launching businesses within emerging markets will enhance the company's
position as a developer and supplier of customer interaction recording solutions for
contact centers.
- ITXC announced that John G. Musci,
former senior vice president of Wholesale Markets at Qwest Communication has joined the
company as COO and executive vice president. Musci will also join the ITXC Board of
Directors. While at Qwest, Musci oversaw all sales, marketing, financial and operational
aspects of Qwest's Wholesale Switched business.
- TeleServices International Group, Inc.
announced the appointment of Keith Wine as senior vice president of its
TeleServices Division. Wine will manage the marketing and operations of the teleservices
business, with an emphasis on developing new distribution channels and strategic
alliances.
- Ennovate Networks, Inc. announced the
appointment of Lih-Shyng Tzeng to the position of vice president of
Engineering. Tzeng is charged with overseeing all aspects of product development for the
Ennovate Envoy 1600 multi-service IP edge switch.
- Ziggy Switkowski has joined Telestra
as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the company. Switkowski was formerly
Telestra's Group Managing Director, Business & International.
- Internet and voice response company Computer
Communications Specialists Inc. changed its name to CCS TrexCom Inc.
to reflect the company's closer affiliation to its parent company, Trex Communications
Corp.
- Diginet Americas, Inc. announced the
appointment of David R. Schmieg to the position of CEO. Schmieg brings to
Diginet 28 years of leadership experience in executive positions with WinStar, Sprint,
AT&T and Southwestern Bell. Schmieg will direct and manage the roll-out of
Diginet America's wireless broadband service in the major urban markets of Latin America.
- Micromuse Inc., a provider of service-level
management software, announced that Gregory Q. Brown has been named
chairman and CEO. Stephen Allott, who has served as interim CEO since October 1998, will
continue to serve as president and chief financial officer.
- The Enterprise Computer Telephony Forum announced the
results of the Board of Directors election held at its third Annual Meeting last month. Edward
Verney, who had served as vice president of Marketing, was elected as the new
chairman and president. A complete list of the newly-elected 1999 Board of Directors can

- AG Communication Systems has appointed Ed
Scarborough to the newly created position of vice president of sales for all the
company's product lines. He will report directly to Jeff Seigel, president.
- Sierra Wireless announced the appointment of
Peter W. Roberts as the chief financial officer and corporate secretary.
Roberts comes to Sierra Wireless with extensive experience in senior financial management
and reporting, and financial information systems in larger companies with Canadian, US and
UK operations.
