New Software Suite From Motorola For Enhanced Network Design And Control
By Vinti Vaid, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Motorola’s (News - Alert) new offering of network design and management software — the One Point Wireless Suite — is now available to customers in North America. The offering is a set of software products for designing, deploying and managing outdoor wireless networks.
According to Phil Bolt, vice president and general manager at Motorola’s wireless broadband solutions division, the suite provides network operators the ability to control every aspect of their network right from designing through implementation and management.
The suite consists of Motorola’s existing solutions MeshPlanner and PTP LINKPlanner and introduces the new Wireless Manager, for enhanced visibility and control of Motorola's wireless broadband products.
The MeshPlanner helps design and measure mesh networks while reducing planning and labor cost and enabling quicker implementation.
The PTP LINKPlanner provides link-planning efficiency with optimal cmore thanage and reduction of link planning efficiency. The application integrates with Google (News - Alert) Earth to provide an more thanview of the entire PTP wireless network.
The Wireless Manager enables streamlined deployment and management of networks. In addition to standard reports, the software provides highly advanced images of network elements and connectivity via Google Earth that give network operators closer control on the network functionality. The software enables network management capabilities including quick detection and resolution of network performance issues, activity scheduling, automated firmware upgrades and security provisioning and enforcement.
The visual enhancements of the One Point Wireless Suite help operators efficiently manage their networks. Its template-based configuration automates and speeds up device configuration. Additionally, its automated device monitoring allows operators to quickly detect and rectify performance interruptions in any part of the network.
"The One Point Wireless Suite, combined with our high performance, high-speed wireless network solutions, provides an unbeatable combination for customers," said Bolt.
Motorola will display the One Point Wireless Suite at Booth SU5016 at NXTcomm08 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from June 17-19.
