Accedian Networks Intros Real-Time Ethernet SLA Automation
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Accedian Networks (News - Alert) has launched its new EchoVault SLA EMS, a class of management system that provides real-time Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring for carrier-grade Ethernet and Internet Protocol (IP) services. The system also automates the creation, assurance and reporting of Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Accedian’s new release provides real-time, per-second, per-flow traffic reporting, QoS fault management, and SLA performance reporting. At the same time the system relieves the telemetry bandwidth requirements of today’s existing solutions. By leveraging the end-to-end SLA performance reports and service monitoring graphs published in real-time to online customer portals by integrated Web reporting, service providers can offer premium-grade, SLA-based services for demanding business access and wireless backhaul applications.
Patrick Ostiguy, Accedian Networks’ founding president and CEO, said that by combining the EchoVault’s per-second reporting granularity with the EtherNID’s leading, one microsecond delay measurement resolution, simply creates the most compelling Ethernet / IP SLA monitoring solution in the industry.
Ostiguy added that EchoVault SLA EMS automates the complete SLA lifecycle, allowing operators to quickly deploy differentiated services, back them with assured SLAs, provide real-time data to operations, sales and support teams, and report SLA compliance and usage statistics to their customers.
The EchoVault SLA EMS is the latest addition to Accedian’s Ethernet Service Assurance Platform (ESAP), a comprehensive suite of Ethernet service creation and assurance functionality for the company’s EtherNID and MetroNID packet assurance demarcation units.
The EchoVault SLA EMS and Accedian Networks’ complete Ethernet Service Assurance Platform (ESAP) will be demonstrated live at NXTcomm08.
Accedian Networks is a provider of Packet Performance Assurance solutions that enable wireless operators, service providers and cable MSOs to deliver carrier-grade, packet-based applications including VoIP, IPTV (News - Alert), video-conferencing and transparent LAN services more than Ethernet, IP/MPLS, and wireless 3G / 4G / WiMAX (News - Alert) networks.
The company was in the news last week when Rockefeller Group Technology Solutions (News - Alert), announced the availability of high-performance Ethernet services for the greater New York area. The new service is backed by Accedian Networks’ ESAP Service Assurance Platform and supports critical, real-time communications and transactional services.
