Arelnet Introduces i-Tone Primo For End-To-End
Carrier Grade VoIP Capability
Arelnet, a provider of
carrier-grade Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony solutions, is set to
introduce its i-Tone Primo to provide complete, end-to-end VoIP capability
to the marketplace.
The i-Tone Primo's seamless integration with the i-Tone Prime,
Arelnet's market leading carrier-grade IP gateway, creates an ideal
turnkey solution for small office/home office (SOHO) and small and medium
enterprise (SMEs) environments. These smaller enterprises can finally
benefit from the high quality VoIP previously available only to larger
corporations. In small private networks, i-Tone Primo units can be
deployed using their own routing capabilities, with larger deployments
utilizing the i-Tone Prime carrier-grade Gateways and Gatekeepers.
"The introduction of the i-Tone Primo is a major step forward in
Arelnet's strategy to bring quality VoIP to customers - small and
large," said Avi Gliksberg, Arelnet VP Business Development.
"Integrating the i-Tone Primo and its i-Tone Prime `big brother' will
be a significant factor in enabling service providers to offer value added
communications services tailored for businesses of all sizes."
The i-Tone Primo gateway, developed by Arelnet's strategic partner TEK
DigiTel, supports 2-4 ports in a stand-alone, H.323-controlled box,
interfacing with an enterprise PBX or standard office telephones. A single
Primo unit can handle simultaneous voice, fax and data transmissions. The
i-Tone Primo has a 10Base-T Ethernet port connected to a LAN and enables
optimized voice streaming over packet voice networks. Calls can be routed
by the i-Tone Primo between the company's branch offices over existing
corporate IP data networks. A wide range of compression levels enable low
bandwidth consumption and provide carrier grade voice quality.
The i-Tone Prime, launched in May 2000, is a hot-swappable,
no-single-point-of-failure, highly scalable carrier-grade gateway. Up to
24 T1s or 30 E1s can be configured in a single gateway. Multiple i-Tone
Prime units can handle in excess of 20,000 simultaneous calls in a rack
mounted stackable configuration. The i-Tone Prime's high density and
excellent price-performance introduces a new dimension of products for
converged networks. i-Tone Prime Gateway was designed from inception for
VoIP operations and its innovative architecture sets new standards for
service richness, cost of ownership, interoperability, scalability and
other carrier critical parameters.
