IPeria Joins Lucent's Full Circle Program To
Offer Service Providers Next-Gen Communications Solutions
IPeria, Inc., a provider of next
generation communications and messaging applications and platforms for IP
telephony networks, announced it has joined Lucent
Technologies' Full Circle program. IPeria's goal is to use the program
to more effectively provide interoperable enhanced services solutions to
telecommunications service providers. These next-generation solutions will
include both the Lucent Softswitch and Lucent EXS gateways, coupled with
the IPeria Service Node (IPSN) platform and NextGen communications and
messaging applications, such as Voice-activated Voice E-mail (VAVES).
IPeria will have the IPeria Service Node platform interface with the
Lucent Softswitch via the session initiation protocol (SIP). As a result,
service providers will be able to seamlessly implement the combined
Lucent/IPeria enhanced services solution and deploy next-generation
applications such as Intelligent Messaging, Virtual Assistance and
Voice-activated Internet Portals. By combining the convenience and
ease-of-use of today's Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) with the
multi media and cost-savings capabilities of the Internet (IP network),
service providers can quickly deploy services that:
- Produce and increase revenue,
- Increase average revenue per user (ARPU),
- Retain highly valued customers, and
- Differentiate themselves from the competition.
"In this highly competitive market, Lucent realizes the importance
for service providers to receive the best solutions and applications in
the shortest amount of time," said Mike Decelle, vice president of
Lucent's Open Network Solutions Group. "By participating in the Full
Circle program, companies such as IPeria will help us capitalize and add
value to our softswitch product, ensuring that service providers receive
the strongest IP-based enhanced services available."
"We are very enthusiastic about joining the Lucent Full Circle
program," said Dick Connaughton, cofounder and chief executive
officer of IPeria. "Lucent has a strong reputation for delivering on
its business promises and providing top quality telecommunications
solutions. By collaborating with Lucent at this time, we will be better
poised to meet service provider demands and help them realize the promise
of the converged packet-based network."
IPeria's flagship product, the IPeria Service Node, features a modular,
data-centric architecture, built from the ground up, to support the
convergence of voice and data network applications. The use of a SIP-based
interface on the IPSN allows it to integrate with Lucent softswitches and
media gateways as well as other industry-leading network products to
provide IPeria's applications to both legacy and next-generation
telecommunications networks. The IPeria Service Node delivers the
carrier-class features to cost-effectively deploy applications in emerging
packet-based networks. IPeria allows service providers to achieve first
mover-advantage by rapidly and seamlessly delivering new IP-based
communications and messaging services to its customers.
Lucent's Full Circle program offers an open software architecture to
enable rapid and cost-effective development and deployment of converged
telecommunications services using open, programmable network technology.
Full Circle is a Lucent-wide initiative and includes enhanced services and
development support from Lucent's own leading intelligent network and
softswitch groups. The program also provides business opportunities and
marketing programs to encourage third- party development and integration
of innovative, next-generation multi-vendor applications and services.
